Very Rare Sectional Coffee Table (Peter Hvidt?)

This exceptional circa 1950 coffee table is fresh into the shop. The maker is a bit of a mystery to me at the moment. Perhaps it is by Peter Hvidt or Brazilian art by CIMO. It is clearly a designer piece of high quality. Each segment boasts an entirely different wood veneer, from Brazilian mahogany to East African Elgon Olive.

The table is in excellent condition with no damage and only a couple of very small chips (none on the segment tops). The richness of the wood is spectacular. While I have arranged in as a round table, the segments can be placed in a variety of arrangements. When arranged as a single round table, the legs form a stunning symmetry or pairs on the outside and an inner circle, ordered in light and dark wood.

It is an incredibly functional table, but if it was in my home, I'd just marvel at it and enjoy the excitement of it serving as a huge discussion centrepiece for every friends and family!

These don't come around often and cost thousands of pounds whenever they do!!!
