A beautifully crafted mid century desk chair dating to the 1960s, executed in solid teak throughout and recently reupholstered in a rich burnt orange velvet.

The design is defined by its sculptural, deeply curved solid teak backrest — a single, thick section of timber shaped for both comfort and visual flow. The grain pattern across the crest rail is particularly attractive, revealing the quality of material used. Slender yet sturdy uprights connect the back to a solid seat frame, supported by tapered legs that give the piece a refined, architectural stance.

The overall aesthetic leans strongly toward Danish modern principles — organic shaping, material honesty and understated elegance — though it may equally be British in origin. The craftsmanship is of a high standard, with well-resolved joints and excellent balance in proportion.

The seat has been newly upholstered in a burnt orange velvet, offering a confident contemporary contrast to the warmth of the teak. The tone complements the timber beautifully while giving the chair renewed presence as either a desk chair or occasional accent piece.
