Three Section Stacking Library Cabinet with Top and Base
A rare and highly collectible Globe-Wernicke barrister’s bookcase, comprising three sectional stacking units complete with original top and base.
Finished in a rich, deep mahogany tone, this example displays the classic proportions and restrained elegance that made Globe-Wernicke one of the most respected names in early 20th century library furniture. Each glazed section is fronted with the traditional up-and-over glass panel, designed to protect books from dust while allowing easy access — a practical innovation that became synonymous with the brand.
The interior retains its original Globe-Wernicke maker’s label, confirming authenticity. The warm patina, tight grain and understated moulded cornice give the piece a quiet authority, equally suited to a study, office or refined living space.
