Sterling Silver Mounted Glass Scent Bottle, London 1928

A charming Art Deco cut-glass scent bottle, fully hallmarked for London, 1928, by George Henry James & Co (G H J & Co). The neat oval body features vertical faceted fluting, giving it an elegant Deco form. The bottle is mounted with a sterling silver collar, gilt-finished, bearing clear hallmarks including the lion passant, leopard's head, and date letter n.

These miniature scent bottles were both functional and decorative, often carried as portable perfume containers in handbags or displayed on ladies' dressing tables. This example has survived in good condition, with its period details and clear hallmarks making it a fine collector's piece.
