Arabic 19th Century Hanafi Manuscript Folio from ‘Mukhtasar’ by al-Quduri - Framed

This beautiful and historically significant double-sided Arabic manuscript folio originates from the 19th century and is an excerpt from the esteemed jurisprudential work, Mukhtasar by al-Quduri (d. 1036). Al-Quduri, a renowned Iraqi scholar, composed this text as a foundational work for the Hanafi school, providing crucial insights into Hanafi doctrine and jurisprudence. The folio contains 13 lines on each side of fine naskh script in black, with catchwords and elegant overlining in red. Extensive interlinear and marginal notes in black add depth, offering a glimpse into centuries-old scholarly discourse. The pages deal with prayer, in particular the prayer of a traveller (Bāb Ṣalāt al-Musāfir) and the recitation of the Qur'an in prostration (Bāb sujūd al-tilāwah).

The folio, measuring 20.7 cm by 15.2 cm (with text dimensions of 15.5 cm by 9.5 cm), is handwritten and meticulously crafted.
